Representing Selma’s Police Professionals Since 2005
Since 2005, the Selma Police Officers Association (SPOA) has provided a collective voice for its members within the bargaining unit. SPOA represents both sworn and non-sworn full time employees of the Selma Police Department and is overseen by a Board of Directors that includes the President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. The Board Members carry out the duties and responsibilities of representing the membership on matters involving wages, benefits and working conditions. SPOA also provides fraternal services and benefits for its members.

Every member of the Selma Police Officers' Association is committed to providing the highest level of police service to our community. We are dedicated to preserving our community's peace while adhering to the highest level of ethical standards and professional conduct. As service providers, we pledge to improve the quality of life for everyone who lives, works, and does business in our community. Being a partner with the community we serve is essential to building trust and mutual respect. These partnerships allow us to understand the community's concerns and enable us to identify and solve problems together.
